Hello Darlings,
Today we are going to get into visualization, which a lot of people hear is a great idea if you really want to lock on target, focus on your goals, make them happen, and manifest that shit. But it tends to be something that not everybody has the easiest time doing, so let's unpack this.
First off, visualization and logical thinking are two different ways of using the brain. The brain literally has to switch off of beta, which is a logical reasoning, analytical state of mind, and brain functioning, to alpha, which is a slower, lower brainwave state. When you look at the squiggles of this brainwave, it's a lot more relaxed. When you look at the squiggles of the beta brainwave state, it's a lot more frenetic. That's exactly how it is with our minds. When we have more thinking activity, we have less creative activity.
The only way we can switch into alpha to have an easier time of visualizing, which is in the realm of the creative alpha state, is to slow down. We need to rest, recharge, and play. We need to feel relaxed in our bodies and our nervous systems and stop thinking about our to-do lists, what's on our schedule, what happened today, and what's going to happen. That's really the first step.
For some people who haven't put this into practice for a long time because they have been very thinking left brain dominant and oriented, this is going to be tricky. It's going to require you to develop a new habit. New habits require reinforcement and repetition. Has anybody ever tried to potty train a kid, teach a dog not to beg for food, get themselves to take a walk most days of the week, or eat healthier? You don't just try one time and then it all falls into place and you're a master at it. That probably is not going to be the case for you.
